American soldiers found themselves in a gun fight with taliban forces, when a RPG was shot at the American humvee, Hitting soldier Moss in the lower abdomen but not detonating.


“There was definitely a sense of uneasiness. There was an air about them of, you know, maybe something was going to happen,” he said.
The convoy included some two dozen 10th Mountain Division soldiers mounted in five armored Humvees and a handful of Afghan National Army troops riding in a pickup truck. Their mission was to visit a remote village to meet the tribal elders. No roads existed in this no-man’s land and they had to drive through waddis, dry narrow river beds with high, dangerous ground on either side.
Four hours into the drive and just miles from the village, gunfire broke out. They’d been ambushed from above. Twenty-three-year-old Pvt. Channing Moss, the gunner, said it sounded like rattling spoons.
Then came the big guns. Volleys of rocket-propelled grenades rained down. The Afghan National Army pickup exploded. Two of the Afghan soldiers died.
One RPG skidded past Lt. Mariani’s vehicle. All of the vehicles had to quickly get out of the “kill zone.” But before they could get to safety, three rockets hit Pvt. Moss’ Humvee.
Staff Sgt. Eric Wynn, 33, the soldier in the front passenger seat, felt one slice through his face. Moss remembers the truck practically lift up. He was thrown up against the Humvee and then moved to return fire.
“I smelled something smoking and I looked down … and I was smoking,” he said.

Wynn turned to tell Moss where to fire and saw the tail fins of the RPG sticking out of Moss’ side.
Roughly the length of a baseball bat, an RPG travels at the speed of a bullet. At the front end is the warhead — a large grenade. The detonator and fuel are contained in the shaft. On the back are its fins, pieces of metal that stick out like legs on a camera tripod. The RPG is the weapon of choice for many of the world’s guerillas.
Luckily for Moss, the company medic Spc. Jared Angell, 23, who the soldiers call “Doc,” was in his Humvee. With Alpha company still under fire, it would have been nearly impossible for Angell to get to Moss in time if he hadn’t been close by.

Today is my Daughter Eva's Birthday!!!

hard to believe the cub turned 4 today. OMG! I remember her arrival like it was yesterday down to the last detail. She is so beautiful, smart, funny, & weird. Pick & choose which attributes I contributed lol She has my love & my admiration without earning it. Thats a crazy concept. She is really the only thing that matters to me. I literally take her into consideration in all my dealings. “Im someone’s dad…” it keeps me rather sane if you can believe that. Eva brings out a side of me I cant even explain. She teaches me things too. Mainly that patience is golden. But I dont mind…we’re learning together. Everything else is childs play by comparison. With a lot of courage, I plan to raise her to a Greater echelon than myself…Mi Eva De Mayo!!!

Ways to tell if your in a Unhealthy Relationship

 Only fools rush in. Before you go professing your love for your new interest, make sure it’s for the right reasons. Guys and gals alike get so psyched when we find someone special that we overlook some factors that could render the relationship unhealthy!

 It’s normal to look at the world through rose-colored glasses in the beginning stages of a relationship.  But don’t let the euphoria blind you from recognizing if your relationship is unhealthy. 
Playing nice and respecting your partner in any relationship should be a two-way street.  Here are some key ingredients for a healthy relationship.

Mutual respect. Does he or she respect your views and opinions?  Do they appreciate your take on things or do they criticize your ideas?  Do they keep plans or set communicate changes in plans?  Does your partner listen when you’re venting?  Do they consider your opinions or feelings?  Does he or she ask about your day and listen intently?  If you are uncomfortable with something, do they tease you or minimize your feelings?   These questions will help you tell if you are being respected and valued for who you are.

Trust. You’re boo sees you chatting it up with another guy or girl.   Do they completely lose their cool or keep walking because they know you’d never cheat on them? Jealousy gets the best of all of us at some time or another — it is a natural emotion. But how a person reacts when feeling jealous is what matters. There’s no way you can have a healthy relationship if you don’t trust one another.

Support. Is your partner front row at your basketball games or do they know the words to a song or poem that you’ve written?  Being supported by your significant other is a MAJOR factor in any relationship.  But it’s not just in good times that your boo should support you.  Some people are great at being there for the good times but have difficulty being there when times are rough.  In a healthy relationship, your significant other is there with a shoulder to cry on when you find out your grandmother passed away and to celebrate with you when you get the lead in a play.

Fairness/equality. You need to have give-and-take in your relationship, too. Do you find that you’re always the one making the trek to hang out with them?  Or that you always have to plan outings?  If so, that’s a sign that your relationship might be unhealthy.  Both participants should be putting in equal effort. 

Safety.  This could fall under the same category as respect.  But it deals more closely with respecting someone’s body and space.  Does your partner grab you or restrain you when you’re trying to walk away.  Does he or she strike, slap or grip you in an unwelcoming manner.  Your guessed it!  You’re relationship is NOT healthy and you need to get out of it.

If you’re relationship is suffering in 2 or more of these areas, you might need to reevaluate whether or not the relationship is healthy for you!  The thing to remember is this: when you remain in a situation that is unhealthy, you are only training yourself to accept unhealthy and counter productive relationships!  The longer you wait to get out of it, the harder it will be.

My Easter

I figured since I wasnt going to church, Id observe easter by not canoodling on my computer aka CPU. I hadnt been to church in awhile too so I didnt want to be like the common lead astray christian folk that come only on the holidays. Cuz I did get invited by some people but I just feel so remote now. I kinda like it. Anyways, I cooked some soulf food & watched basketball. The knicks got swept but it wasnt like I didnt expect them to put up a decent fight after seeing them lack luster. The lakers lost which is big cuz I loathe the lakers. I dozed off quite a bit & woke up to Sun Tzu’s the art of war on the history channel & they were just analyzing his methods. Dope shit. Uhm…watched something on jesus & something bout 40 days. Idk…but I def have some questions for my papa who is a pastor on one of the books that didnt make the bible. & i watched inside the vatican. all in all…i just learned stuff that normally people wouldnt care to know but at their own risk however.

 Oh yeah…watched a movie on cannabilism called “Grim Love”
